calendar aptitude questions and answers

Calendar Aptitude questions and answers

Hi friends calendar related problems are common aptitude problems in most of the competitive exams like SSC, UPSC, IBPS, Kerala PSC, Railway, CAL etc..

When we start to learn about calendar related problems a couple of things we need to remember or to be by heart, these are the key factors which will guide the students to success.

Let me introduce some common facts about Calendar and Dates

*  Normal calendar year consist of 365 days,February 28 days

*  Leap year calendar consist of  366 days, February 29 days

*  If an year is a perfect multiple of 4,that should be a leap year

*  Except all years like non multiple of 4, which are normal years

*  In non leap year, Both January 1st and December 31st   should be same day of the week

*  In leap year, if the January  1st is  Monday the December 31 should be Tuesday

* Thirty days of September April, June and November

Question 1

2011 January 1 was Saturday. What was the day on 2012 January 1?.

From the above mentioned facts we know "In non leap year, Both January 1st and December 31st   should be same day of the week".

2011 is not a leap year, So 2011 December 31 falls on Saturday.
The next day 2012 January 1 is Sunday.

Question 2

2011 March 15 was Tuesday. What was the day on April 15 of same year?

A) Wednesday   B) Thursday   C) Friday   D) Saturday

Question 3

2012 October 1 was Monday.What was the day on 2013 October 1?

A) Tuesday  B) Monday  C) Friday   D) Sunday

2012 was a leap year, but the given dates does not cover the month of February 2012 and 2013 was a non leap year.

So we can follow the "In non leap year, Both January 1st and December 31st   should be same day of the week".
January 1st and December 31st of X year was Monday
From the above line we can easily say that January 1st of X year was Monday ,then January 1st of X+1 year is Tuesday.

Answer is Tuesday
